How To Make A Tank Disappear & Kherson Tour (EN)

Two documentary performances from Ukraine by Mykola Homanyuk

An event made world news: Roma people stole a Russian tank. The musical performan “How to make a tank disappear” reveals how this could happen. The lecture-performance-exhibition “Kherson tour” asks how non-human actors (plants, animals, cultural heritage sites) can become participants in the process of mental and physical restoration of Ukrainian cities after the Russian aggression.

At the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, a group of Roma steal a Russian tank. The performance reveals how it all happened and asks the question: reality or farce? “Kherson Tour” shows a war-torn city and the diversity that arises when people (have to) turn away. The reconstruction of the city is imagined by the audience as a completely new beginning.
