Jazz: Trilok Gurtu & Arke String Quartet + Sisa Féher + HlasKontraBas

The

Jazz scene Marathon Brno is created in cooperation with Czech Radio Jazz and his dramaturg Petr Vidomus. The Husa na String Theater will feature the duo Voicektrabas, which consists of singer Ridina Ahmedová and double bass player Petr Tichý. Singer Sisa Fehér will perform with her trio and present songs from her latest album mammatus . The main star of the evening will be the residential artist of the festival, the Indian player on the percussion of the Gurt Trilok, with the Arke String Quartet, who plays two violin, viola and double bass. Gurt can link its deep knowledge of Indian music and world music with the European classical tradition, creating an unusual dialogue between percussive rhythms and the harmony of strings. The performance is also largely based on improvisation and other procedures known from jazz.
