The Petr Dvorský Trio will play as part of the Vinohrady Jazz Meeting in the Mandragora wine bar in Prague, with Petr Dvorský – double bass, Stanislav Mácha – piano, Jiří Slavíček – drums and Petr Kalfus – saxophone as a guest.
Petr Dvorský graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Jazz Conservatory in Prague and studied classical double bass privately with Professor Jan Kment, Professor Václav Fuka and Professor Jiří Valenta. He entered the Czech jazz scene as a member of the debuting quartet The Four with Karel Růžička jr., Stanislav Mácha and Jiří Slavíček, which in 1990 won the international competition of the jazz festival in Karlovy Vary. In 1992, he won second place with Pavel Wlosok's Trio at the Jazz Juniors international competition festival in Krakow, Poland.
Since then he has collaborated with many leading Czech and foreign jazzmen, such as: Sandy Lomax, Mark Vinci, Steve Lacy, Steve Houben, Juraj Bartoš, Gabriel Jonáš, Matúš Jakabčić, Karel Růžička, Emil Viklický, Eva Olmerová, Ingrid Jensen, Štepán Marković, Luboš Andršt, Markus Printup, Najponek and others. For several years in a row, he was nominated in the Czech Jazz Society's poll as talent of the year. In the years 2004–2013, he was a member of the Czech Radio Big Band. He accompanied the legendary hardbop saxophonist Lew Tabakin with Emil Viklický's trio.
