Jiří Slavíček

Jiří Slavíček is a Czech drummer.

He graduated from the conservatory in Ostrava. He worked as a teacher in the department of jazz interpretation, majoring in percussion instruments at HAMU. For 16 years, he played in the group Robert Balzar Trio and Dan Bárta's Illustratosphere.

From 1992 he started working in Prague in the group The Four, with which he also won the competition of the International Jazz Festival in Karlovy Vary. Since then, he has been active in various groups, with whom he also made a number of recordings. On the home stage he performed, for example, with the AČR big band led by Rudolf Koudelka, with the trio of Jaromír Honzák, with the trio of Roman Pokorný, with the trio of Robert Balzar, David Dorůžka, Ondřej Ruml, Yvonne Sanchez, Miriam Bayle, Ondřej Štveráček, Matěj Benek, Beata Hlavenková, Libor Smurfette and many others. He played with foreign personalities such as Art Farmer, Piotr Baron, Kuba Stankiewicz, Sandy Lomax, Christian Rover, Craig Handy, Budapest Jazz Orchestra John Abercrombie, Femi Temowo, Inbar Friedman or Michael Mayo.
