Petro Live: Šimanský Niesner

The pair of guitarists Jakub Šimanský and Tomáš Niesner made their debut together with the album Unknown Dances, which was released on the Stoned to Death label in 2019. Both players share almost ten years of existence in the noise-rock band Unna.

In 2016, Šimanský went solo and released his debut Face to Face Against American Primitivism in Eastern Europe Vol. I. Not long after that, Šimanský and Niesner capitalized on their long-standing collaboration and began working on a joint record, the release of which was followed by relatively intensive concerts and the writing of new compositions.

In their music, variety and a unique approach to tuning, rhythmicity, mantric repetitivism, but also a sense of catchy melodies are evident, whereby the duo builds on the tradition of American primitivism, Czech folk or Eastern music influences.

In 2020, their song appeared on the compilation Imaginal Anthem Vol. X by American label Tompkins Square. Šimanský and Niesner subsequently released their second long-playing record Všechno Dobré. Their new album Jako doma was released in September 2023 and they are currently working on new recordings.

The concert will start at exactly 19:30, the organizers ask you to arrive on time. Contributions directly enable artist royalties, production and maintenance of the space.
