Petro Live: SJU

SJU's repertoire is full of playful and danceable electronics, colorful visuals, costumes and projections. So far, she has released two studio albums in two years and continues her work with a new EP in the spring of 2026 called Shadowmouth.

Her newly released tracks "Crystalline" and "Curse Me Now" indicate her new musical direction with a more expressive movement, a rawer sound and pulsating synths. She currently works between Prague and London and has already performed at the biggest festivals in Europe from Qstock, Colors of Ostrava, Pohoda to Grape Festival.

Her single "Rhythm In Your Pose" was released by the French label Kitsuné Musique and was included in the reboot of the HBO series Gossip Girl. She is a regular in the BBC 6 Music rotation and Norwegian label Snorkel Records released a special vinyl of her last summer. SJU also has its own fashion brand @BYSJU and produces hats for artists from The Black Eyed Peas, Gorillaz or Slowdive.

Shadowmouth is SJU's new five-song EP, straddling the border between shadow and reflection, between what we perceive and what is real. In a new, rawer sound, SJU connects intimate emotions with broader questions of identity, projection and interpersonal relationships.

The project arose out of a fascination with the space of the cave as a metaphor for human perception, a place where reality can appear distorted and where we don't always distinguish between what is true and what is only its reflection. The individual tracks capture different stages of this process: from losing yourself in other people's expectations, through toxic bonds and illusions, to moments of clarity, liberation and true connection.

Shadowmouth is a personal, yet universal statement about the search for truth beneath the surface, about the ability to question one's own perception and learn to distinguish between shadow and reality.

Contributions directly enable artist fees, production and maintaining space.
