Dear friends of Scottish culture,
we are very happy to invite you to a dance celebration held on the occasion of the feast of St. Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. The event will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024 in the Sýpka cultural center in Brno - Medlánky. The ceilidh starts at 19:30 with the first dance, the hall is open for visitors from 19:00.
The traditional ingredients of the evening await you - a ceremonial opening with pipers and drummers Scotch Dog Pipes and Drums, musical accompaniment by Alastair Edwards and his band and, above all, dance lessons led by our excellent lecturer Mike Scott from Edinburgh. The Whiskey Shop from Brno will offer selected Scottish single-malt whiskey for tasting, and the raffle will once again be full of attractive thematic prizes.
We will start ticket pre-sale at the end of October. Ticket sales take place only by e-mail with payment by bank transfer. To reserve and purchase tickets, please email [email protected]. You will be allowed to enter the event after giving your name or nickname at the entrance to the hall 🙂
Autumn ceilidh is usually carried in a less formal spirit, so don't worry if you don't have a kilt, and feel free to leave your mother's plaid skirt on closet. 😉 On the other hand - those who still long for their own kilt can order or rent one from our kiltmaker: www.kiltforyou.eu.
