Together with the best hot jazz cats in the city, they now form one of the freshest and most exciting bands in the city with a changing line-up!

The Hot Club Orchestra adapts Django Reinhardt's pieces and other gypsy jazz classics for a multi-member ensemble. Look forward to a very special musical experience and take a journey back in time to the birth of European jazz!

Barcelona-born Gianni Gagliardi is “a rising star in the Brooklyn jazz scene,” as Ron Netsky of the Rochester City Newspaper writes. His unique sound, originality and artistic integrity have allowed him to perform all over the world in a wide variety of settings, from jazz to flamenco with greats such as Al Foster, John Clayton, Dick Oats, Gilad Hekselman or Jordi Rossy. He was a student at Berklee College of Music, the State University of New York, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Conservatoire National Superior de Paris. Gianni is the founder of BCN Jazz Collective, a label and platform for young composers to publish and promote their works. He is in demand as a sideman and leader; his recordings have been highly praised by international critics.

Fox is a Berlin saxophonist with a deep global musical understatement. Born in East Berlin, he studied jazz in Mainz and Graz (Austria). He then expanded his musical horizons: research projects took him to India and China. In 2008 he returned to Berlin and worked on projects such as Expulsion from Paradise, Katya Sourikova Group and the Big Band of the German Opera, to name a few. He worked as a performer as well as a composer and arranger in numerous film and theater productions.

Fritz Moshammer, who lives in Berlin, is a trumpeter and composer with roots in the Rhineland. As a jazz and studio musician, he takes part in a wide range of projects and gives numerous concerts at home and abroad. Fritz Moshammer is currently part of Alvaro Soler's band with concerts all over Europe. He also toured with Mark Forster throughout German-speaking countries for 5 years.

Declan Forde is a pianist from Scotland and has lived in Berlin since 2014. In recent years, Forde has developed in Berlin into an incredibly versatile pianist who is at home in almost any musical context. From early jazz with Igor Spallati's Musicomaniacs, to performing the music of Duke Ellington with American bassist Greg Cohen (Ornette Coleman, John Zorn, Woody Allen, etc.); Original music with James Banner's Usine to freely improvised music with artists such as Jeff Williams, John Hollenbeck, Tobias Delius, Max Andrzejewski, Cansu Tanrikulu, Rudi Mahal, Jan Roder and Michael Griener. Forde also performs solo and was invited by the Berlin Festival to perform as part of American artist Rashid Johnson's installation "Antoine's Organ" at Berlin's Gropius Bau from July to December 2019. Outside the world of jazz and improvised music, Forde has been performing, touring and recording with Scottish singer and artist Rachel Sermanni for over ten years.

James Banner is a musician and composer living in Berlin. He performs in a variety of constellations in the fields of jazz, improvised and contemporary music in projects such as James Banner's USINE, Birgitta Flick Quartet and Tilo Weber Quartet: Four Fauns, as well as as a composer for joint projects with artists and collectives such as Stephanie Lamprea and The Arc Project. His music has been supported and presented by the BBC, the PRS Foundation, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Initiative Musik and the Berlin Senate. James is currently co-curator of the monthly residency Practically Married (with Declan Forde) at Berlin's Donau115 and guest lecturer in improvisation at Leeds College of Music.
