About event
We cordially invite you to an exceptional cultural and educational afternoon on the occasion of World Parkinson's Disease Day.
We thought for a long time about how to create a project that will have real meaning. Parkinson's disease is often perceived through stereotypes - many associate it only with hand tremors or older age. However, the reality is much broader.
Among us there are people who work, raise children, play sports, create and plan for the future - and at the same time live with Parkinson's disease. Everyone learns to live with it in their own way. Every day we seek a balance between what the disease takes from us and what life still gives us.
The Faces of Parkinson's project presents portraits and real stories of people living with this diagnosis. We want to show that behind every diagnosis there is a person - with his life, strength and his own story.
Come see Parkinson's disease through different eyes and get to know the people who live with it every day.
It will include the opening of a photo exhibition that presents portraits of people living with Parkinson's disease. The photographs capture their life, movement and everyday moments.
During the event, there will be space for open discussion and interviews with people living with Parkinson's disease, as well as with experts.
The program will be complemented by a musical performance and light refreshments.
The photographs will be exhibited in the gallery UMELKA – Center for Modern Art and Community for about a week after the opening, so the exhibition can be visited in the following days. The event is intended for people with Parkinson's disease, their families, friends and the public.
Entrance is free.
We look forward to seeing you🌷
