About event
Participants will go on a guided walk that will draw them into the history of one of the most stylish corners of Prague - Vinohrady. This place, once famous for its vineyards, experienced a boom at the end of the 19th century, which made it one of the most popular Prague suburbs of the Prague monarchy. The wanderings of the walk participants will take them to the oldest Vinohrady buildings from the time before the First World War. They will start at Náměstí Míru, where they will learn about the stories of majestic public buildings. They will then continue towards the former Wimmer's orchards, a green oasis intended for residents' recreation. The guide will show the participants where the legendary sausage factory stood. The walk ends at the former Vinohrady railway station, which no longer serves its purpose. Who wants to explore other Prague districts? Open House regularly organizes walks in lower Žižkov, upper Nuslí, Bubenč and Letná.
The guided walk is Michal Šedivý. The profit from this event goes to support the activities of the non-profit organization Open House Praha, z. ú.
