About event

As part of WFFR Lokaal, the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam will screen the documentary Farming While black in the Keilepand

English below

Farming While Blackis an impressive documentary about the legacy of black farmers in the United States and the new generation that is reclaiming land and ancestral knowledge. The focus is on Leah Penniman, co-founder of Soul Fire Farm, who, together with other activists, uses agriculture as a means of justice and healing. Inspired by pioneers such as Karen Washington and Blain Snipstal, their work confronts centuries of racial inequality in agriculture and gives powerful impetus to movements for food sovereignty and sustainability.

The evening opens with an introduction by The Food Garden, which works on food security at a local level, social inclusion and sustainable urban agriculture.
