"Being lost - literally lost - emotionally lost, lost in a fragmented dimension of thought completely beyond your own control, crushed by the weight of your insignificance in the face of time, space, life, and death, fighting senselessly against that which ignores you, let alone be interested in you.”

“Like a '13" Frank Beltrame Italian Stiletto with Bison Horn Grips'?"

Xiu Xiu are releasing their fourteenth studio album, 13" Frank Beltrame Italian Stiletto with Bison Horn Grips, in Fall 2024. Nine brand new songs to seal the deal with those who will still listen to the album from beginning to end, because the album is a message that cannot be read in parts or in a skip. deals with the innermost human feelings and emotions.

Stewart's raw experimental songwriting is hard to find genre definitions. With their direct lyrics, they hold a mirror to the often harrowing reality of human existence, loneliness, fear, violence and pain, accompanied by guitar noise, chromatic melodies, fragmented electronics and (avant-)pop synthesizer lines and dark ambient surfaces. Despite all this, Xiu Xiu's music does not sound unequivocally depressing or hopeless, perhaps quite the opposite; finds beauty in surrendering to human fate.

The evening will be opened by Evicshen, the musical project of the "sound alchemist" Victoria Shen, who works with self-made instruments, modular synthesizers and found objects. As he explores the spatial boundaries of sound and its physical dimension, he abandons rhythmic and harmonic conventions in favor of extreme noise chaos.
