The first Czech architects and their buildings
The new lecture from the cycle prepared in cooperation with Open House Prague with the historian of architecture Zdeněk Lukeš brings the theme of women in architecture. This time the popular architecture popularizer will focus more on the past to the true pioneers in the field, which has until then only reserved for men. He will introduce Grete Schutte-Lihotzky and Marie Frommerová, who became foreign patterns for Czech designers of the interwar period. Of these, Milada Petříková-Pavlíková, the first Czech architect graduated at the Czech Technical University, among others the author of the Federal House of the Women's Club of the Czech Club, today the headquarters of the Drama Club. Hana Kučerová-Znama, architect, pupil of Pavel Janák, author of several villas in the settlement Baba and also designer furniture, eg for Barrandov terraces. Jarmila Lisková, Magda Jansová, Elly Oehler, Augusta Muller, Emanuel Kittrichová or Helena Láchová, other architects, designers, designers whose stories and work will be presented.
