Amorante

Amorante is the stage name of Iban Urizar, a Basque musician, multi-instrumentalist and ethnomusicologist. The project originated as an independent artistic path of Urizar, who combines traditional musical elements, experimental sound processes and improvisation in his work. Amorante refers to his work as "música popular", i.e. folk music in the broadest sense — music ranging from the roots of traditional culture to contemporary experimental interpretation. His music combines traditional motifs of Basque music, elements of folklore, improvisation and modern sound techniques. As a multi-instrumentalist, he uses instruments such as guitar, harmonium, ukulele, cencerro, trumpet, but also electronic elements.
