Booka Shade

Booka Shade is a German electro-house duo. By combining electronics with elements of classical music, rock and jazz, Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger appeal not only to fans of dance music, but also to fans of other genres. You definitely don't pigeonhole them. Their music knows no boundaries. During the long 25 years of cooperation, Arno and Walter discovered that limiting themselves to one specific genre of music is almost impossible for them. Under various names, they began to depict the German club scene with electro-pop sets, later they were hired as creators of film soundtracks and pop hits. But they soon rejected this path and still remember it as a rather depressing period of their work. "Back then we didn't care about everything. Today, we solve every note," says Arno. It wasn't until 2002 that they finally hit the right track and founded the Get Physical Music record company in Berlin, an incubator of German modern dance music, where they released four albums of their own. In addition to his own work, he also celebrates success with remixes for various names, from Depeche Mode to Moby to Kings Of Leon.
