D'Epog
D'EPOG is a platform for contemporary experimental production. The activity of the theater has a laboratory character. D'EPOG explores theater and explores through theater. The primary material with which D'EPOG articulates its themes are the actor and the space.
The creation of the D'EPOG theater strongly emphasizes the role of the spectator, the degree of his freedom of interpretation and his participation in creating the meaning of the performance. D'EPOG coherently develops the line of the so-called "dramaturgy of space". With the aim of attacking the limits of the audience's perception, it experiments programmatically with various models of the organization of the scenic space - especially the relationship between the auditorium and the stage.
D'EPOG situates its projects in non-theatrical urban spaces, from which it is based thematically, ideologically and conceptually: Heteronym Nin , a production that deals with obsessive self-exhibition, is set in an empty gallery. Di_sein, a shape questioning the meaning of theater, was situated in a factory hall destined for demolition. A probe into the theme of human freedom and poverty – Crim Garden, takes place in the space of a former prison, and the production of Ninevea exposes the motifs of purification and the fragility of the boundaries between intimate and public in the tribune of a gigantic swimming stadium. The provocative Czech-English production 121 occupies the hall called Malá Amerika and the artistically iconic ∞ exhibition hall Richard Adam Gallery.
The work of the D'EPOG theater maneuvers in genres on the border between drama and movement theater and performance. In addition to production activities, the research of actor's expressiveness has an important position in the creation of the theater. An essential part of the operation of the laboratory of the D'EPOG theater are workshops focused on actor training, action montage and work with energy. honored by the festival ...přístí vlna/next wave... Actress Julie Goetzová was nominated for the Alfréd Radok Award in the Talent of the Year category for her performance in the monodramatic diptych WOMAN OBJECT/ WOMAN SUBJECT (Heteronym Nin - Display Pastrana).
