Jocelyn Steury

Jocelyn is an embodiment mentor, poet, movement educator and somatic ritual sorceress based out of Portland, Oregon.

It's her ​passion to help people embody the deep medicine of their sensuality and the wise magic of their muse.

Through weekly classes, immersive group deep dives, monthly workshops and 1:1 work, she guides groups and individuals through transformative movement and writing experiences, both online and in person.

She has taught writing, dance and somatic centering practices for the past two decades, as well as led dance intensives and created choreography for professional dance companies in the United States and in Brazil. She wrote and directed the feature length documentary, Believe The Beat, which follows the evolution of a group of Brazilian Hip Hop dancers over the course of 12 years. She also directed the Brazilian docu-series, Fé Na Batida, which examines the relationship between urban dance styles, community and culture.

Jocelyn’s award winning creative nonfiction and poetry has been published in various online platforms and magazines, including three Best Women’s Travel Writing anthologies, Rebelle Society and 3Elements Review.

She believes deeply in the power of community and the necessity of interpersonal growth spaces that are held with care, clarity and transparency.

She belives that our life force is intended to nourish us, root to crown.

That self-love is our birthright.  

That our bodies are our holy home.
