Vanessa Weisz

Vanessa Weisz is a singer, composer, actress, artist who appeared on the Slovak scene relatively recently. She released her debut mixtape Wisdom Tooth in February 2021, more or less as a "quarantine experiment", but a few months later this project was nominated in the RadioHead_Awards 2021 in categories: Album of the Year, Debut of the Year and Discovery of the Year. In 2022, she was again nominated in the Song of the Year category with the track sociopath (from the EP u were a fucked up fantasy) and the song fuck yeah no please (also from the EP u were a fucked up fantasy) selected as part of the soundtrack for the film I don't like you anymore by Zděnk Jiráský. Her work can be characterized as electronic an alternative with pop/soft-rock or blues elements, but I like it connects different sounds and does not focus on music by genre, but approaches each track as an individual piece. He considers music to be therapeutic, he is not afraid to touch on sensitive topics and experiences related to love, disappointment, death, mental health or satire on morality and society. Vanessa is currently working on her debut album We Don't Talk About Dead People which is dedicated to her father and also hopes that within this project the topic of death in society will be de-tabooed and people will not be shy to talk openly about their deceased if it is something that helps them mentally cope with the loss.
