Pražský filharmonický sbor & Pavel Černoch

The Prague Philharmonic Choir, together with world-class tenor Pavel Černoch, will present a purely Czech program here, with which they will embark on their "American" concert tour a few days later, the highlight of which will be an a cappella concert in New York's Carnegie Hall. The repertoire cannot miss the compositions of Bohuslav Martinů, who, as one of the few European composers, conquered the so-called New World, and whose works were premiered by the most famous American orchestras under the leadership of world-class conductors. By including compositions by Petr Eben, Bohuslav Martinů and Jan Novák, i.e. authors whose lives and work were marked by the communist and Nazi regimes respectively, the concert also becomes part of cultural events commemorating November's Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy and Student Day.
