About event

How did the Slovaks celebrate the summer solstice and what changes did the adoption of Christianity bring? Answers will be provided by ethnologist PhDr. Katarína Nádaská, PhD. during a lecture dedicated to the traditions of Vajan and the St. John's fires.

The event will offer an interesting insight into old customs, the symbolism of fire and natural cycles, as well as a discussion about how these traditions have survived to the present day.

The House of Culture Ružinov is barrier-free. Both the Small and Great Halls are easily accessible for the disabled.
