The tourist information office of the city of Žilina invites you to a series called Wednesdays with history - guided tours with guide Michal Chudík.
We will see you next on Wednesday, June 17 at 5:00 p.m., when we will follow up on our last meeting and again focus on industry in Žilina. This time we will focus on the Hungária industrial enterprise, which started operating in 1892. Since 1902, the factory has become known mainly for the production of sulfuric acid. After the First World War, the Žilina joint-stock company for artificial fertilizers and chemical products took over the factory. The last large factory from the period before the First World War to which we will devote our attention was the pulp factory. Did you know that it transformed Žilina, after Bratislava and Košice, into the third most important economic center in Slovakia?
