Múzeum mesta Bratislavy

The Museum of the City of Bratislava was founded in 1868 and is the oldest continuously operating museum in Slovakia. It consists of 11 thematic museums.

The activity of the museum is focused on documenting and presenting the history of Bratislava. Collections of exceptional art-historical value document the history of the city through archaeological finds, monuments to rich craft activity and industry, viticulture, cultural and social life, but also ethnology, the history of pharmacy and numismatics. The focus of the museum is also presented by individual exhibitions, many of them located in architecturally valuable, heritage-protected buildings.

The Museum of the City of Bratislava offers visitors 9 permanent exhibitions, which are located primarily in the historic center of the old city, outside of which there is National cultural monument Devín Castle and Antiká Gerulata Museum in Rusovce.
